Upon launching a 3D application, horizontal tearing may occur. The symptoms may appear during full screen, windowed, or 3D screen captures. The issue occurs regardless of the "sync with vertical" setting in fglrxconfig. Not all systems are affected. One possible workaround, which has been known to minimize this behavior in some cases, is to enable the OpenGL Overlay, in place of the Video (Xv) Overlay. This may be accomplished as follows:
